Alarm! Doctor 'falsely claimed she was gang raped,

Allegations: The junior doctor falsely claimed she was attacked with a knife, raped and burned with a cigarette lighter, the tribunal heard (file photo)A junior doctor falsely claimed two colleagues were involved in gang raping her at knifepoint in the hospital where she worked, a tribunal heard.
The woman claimed two men dragged her into an office and threatened her with a blade before sexually assaulting her.

She also claimed she was injected with drugs, restrained with ropes and cut with a knife during the course of the attack which was filmed on a mobile phone.
Allegations:

The woman claimed two doctors at the Bassetlaw District General Hospital, in Worksop, Nottinghamshire, had knowledge of the assault, which left her pregnant, although they did not carry out the rapes.
The Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service heard that following the attacks she claimed she had received ‘funny bleeps’ on her hospital pager and was warned ‘I know you have told someone’ when she replied.
She later told colleagues about a second attack in which she was threatened with a knife by two men who took her into a hospital building and raped her.

The doctor reported the incidents to police, but later admitted in an official statement that she had lied.
She now admits the rape allegations were false, but insisted she was physically attacked on two occasions.
The doctor is now facing a fitness to practise panel in Manchester to decide if she will be allowed to continue her career.
The hearing continues.
