Christina Applegate is a very loved Hollywood actress that played the part of Kelly Bundy in the sitcom: Married With Children and now as Samantha Newly on the show, Samantha Who. In August, 2008, reports that Christina have breast cancer comes out all over TV and the Internet. Applegate's spokesperson confirmed the reports that Christina is diagnosed with breast cancer. The good thing with the diagnosis was that it was caught in starting stages. The problem was found on just one of her breasts but Applegate underwent a double mastectomy operation within the same month. The actresses mother is a cancer survivor and since her cancer is hugely on the hereditary side, she decided to take action upon the dangerous threat as soon as she could. Applegate is now doing great and will be given reconstructive surgery soon.
Hailed as one of the most successful female pop singers, Sheryl Crow is also a songwriter, political activist and has nine Grammy Awards under her belt. The artist was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. Just like Christina Applegate, the disease was caught in the beginning stages. Crow had a lumpectomy, which is a procedure to remove the tumor in the breast. Crow also went through radiation treatment for close to two months after the surgery. The artist has been without cancer since the surgery and is currently on her second year as a cancer survivor.
Christened as Francine Joy Drescher, Fran is widely recognized worldwide as Fran Fine from her TV show, The Nanny. In 2000, The star was rushed to the hospital because of uterine cancer, a kind of cancer where the tumor affects the uterus of a person. Her cancer, thankfully, was still in its beginning phase when the surgery to remove the tumor was made thus she didn’t go along with chemotherapy or radiation treatment. After seven years of being a cancer survivor, the award winning actress began an organization to help others who are afflicted with cancer. The name of the organization is Cancer Schmancer Movement.
