Former Baywatch star and Playboy model Pamela Anderson finally explained the reason for her chic new pixie haircut to chat show host Ellen Degeneres.

'I got a haircut,' Pamela began with a giggle as she sat down to chat with Ellen days after Pamela ran the New York City marathon to raise money for charity.
'I love it,' Ellen replied. 'Was that to be more aerodynamic when you run? What made you cut your hair?'

'I just thought my hair had had a life and I kind of wanted to put that behind me and start fresh,' Pamela replied, 'and I also thought it would be good for the marathon.'
Pamela was on Wednesday's show because Ellen was holding her '1st Annual I Was Wrong' awards.
'I've had eleven season of my show and never had a reason to do this before,' the host declared. 'A couple of weeks ago Pamela Anderson was on the show and told me she was going to run the New York City marathon and I may have accidentally said that she might not finish. More than once.
'Well, she did finish the marathon and I want to apologise to her in person.'
With that she introduced 'New York marathon finisher Pamela Anderson' to the strains of Lady Gaga's Applause hit. Pamela arrived holding her finishing medal from the charity race.
Pamela ran the marathon in five hours and 41 minutes. 'But I finished,' she laughed as other guests on the set including The Wanted clapped her achievement. ''And we raised a lot of money for our charity in Haiti.

'My oldest son Brandon told me that next year he will do it with me.'
'That's great,' Ellen replied. 'I have a gift. Next time you can wear this...'
She held up a T-shirt which declared 'Ellen is not always right'
'Because I really want to apologise to you,' Ellen simpered before the segment finished and Pamela left the set,
On her Twitter page Pamela signed off on the major milestone of trimming her locks by simply writing 'new hair' and posting a somewhat sombre picture of herself with the new look in sepia.
